STANDBY POWER - Valve Regulated (Sealed) Ni-Cad Batteries

Valve-Regulated Pocket Plate Batteries
Nickel Cadmium batteries continue to be the most reliable battery systems
available as a source of DC power. Their advantageous features enable
them to be preferred over other battery systems. With the advent of the
valve regulated lead acid battery, a new concept was available, a battery
that did not require water replenishment. Based on this concept the VRPP
recombination nickel cadmium pocket plate battery was developed.

VRPP – The Solution to Varied Applications
•   Emergency lighting
•   Railway signaling
•   Switchgear
•   Telecommunications
•   Fire and security systems
•   UPS
•   Offshore oil and gas
•   Photovoltaics
•   Process control
•   Mass transit

Advantages of the VRPP Battery
•   Long life
•   Reliable and predictable performance
•   Resistant to abuse, electrical and mechanical
•   Zero or low maintenance
•   No sudden death failure due to internal corrosion
•   Wide operating temperature range
•   Low installation costs
•   Negligible gassing - gassing under normal charging conditions is minimal making it safe for installation in human environments
such as offices and hospitals

VRPP Nickel Cadmium Pocket Plate Batteries
VRPP batteries are designed to meet the needs of applications requiring the traditional high reliability of nickel cadmium pocket plate cells without the need to top-up with water. They are indeed the best solution for installations, whether they are UPS systems, emergency lighting systems, telecommunications,
where the risk of failure of the system is unacceptable. VRPP batteries are also eminently suitable for remote applications such as photovoltaic systems, offshore applications and switching substations, where the system must have total reliability without the need for battery maintenance.

Chargers

Emergency and standby power at high value facilities is typically provided by diesel or gas engines. If commercial AC power fails these engines must start to protect from loss of life and revenue. SENS chargers save money by helping avoid costly engine start failure.
With multi-rate charging and temperature compensation, SENS chargers have earned the reputation as the units that help start engines most reliably. More than just rugged, SENS chargers are unique by automatically tailoring their output to the battery’s requirements in real time. Regardless of state of charge or temperature, the battery always receives exactly what it needs – automatically and without user intervention - so it's always ready to start the engine.

Our state-of-the-art control systems have recharged and maintained industrial batteries since 1971. The results: reduced downtime, decreased maintenance costs, and extended battery life for critical DC power applications.

SENS TD battery charger is designed for diverse applications such as supplemental charging power for large batteries used in extended run-time UPS. TD is also used in Cable TV and industrial applications.
Each TD charger can be field adjusted to many different battery configurations. Only five different models are required to meet any nominal battery voltage from 36 to 240 volts. Three different output currents are available: 3, 5 or 7 amps. Two or more chargers can be connected in parallel for greater output current.
TD chargers include precision voltage regulation, electronic control, and UL recognition. Chargers are compact in size and can be mounted in any configuration – including inverted.

SEN'S NRG - The smart choice for mission-critical engine starting

• Field adaptable 12/24 volts
• 4-rate charging
• Temperature compensated
• Easiest field setup
• Standard alarms, including industry-first battery fault alarm
• 1 million hour observed MTBF
• Non-corroding aluminum housing
• C-UL listed, CE marked

SENS' NRG is the most accurate, rugged and dependable engine start battery charger available. More than reliable, NRG instantly and easily converts to any common lead-acid or nickel cadmium battery - meaning NRG is simple to install and can replace other chargers without pre-planning.
NRG automatically adjusts its output to meet constantly changing battery needs. This allows the battery to deliver maximum possible performance and life.
SENS exclusive Battery Fault alarm system detects battery problems like high resistance cables and open battery cells. The Battery Fault alarm enables dispatch of service personnel to fix battery problems early - before engine start is needed.
SENS NRG includes EnerGenius® reliability technology. EnerGenius® delivers high reliability under harsh conditions including electrical and mechanical abuse. NRG has demonstrated MTBF greater than 1 million hours.
NRG is available to comply with three UL standards including BBGQ, BBHH and QWIR. This means an NRG is available for standby or emergency generator application, or diesel fire pump starting
